CORE ISSUES
For over five decades, Mark Pulido has called Cerritos home — and he’s spent his career investing in the community that raised him.
From serving three terms on the ABC Unified School Board to leading the City Council, Pulido has prioritized neighborhood improvements that strengthen quality of life. He funded street repair and maintenance, fixed sidewalks, filled potholes, renovated parks, and oversaw the trimming of 15,000 trees to keep neighborhoods safe and beautiful. He helped establish the Teen Studio at the Cerritos Library and supported thoughtful residential development that welcomed new families to the community.
Mark believes the government should work at the neighborhood level — improving daily life for residents and building a stronger future for the next generation.
Mark Pulido has delivered measurable results on public safety.
During his tenure on the Cerritos City Council, residential burglaries dropped by 35%, and the city maintained the lowest emergency response times in Los Angeles County — under three minutes.
He understands that safe neighborhoods require strong partnerships between local government and law enforcement, smart investment, and proactive leadership.
Pulido’s approach is practical and results-driven: focus on prevention, ensure rapid response, and give first responders the tools they need to protect families.
As the son of small business owners, Mark Pulido knows that strong local economies create opportunities for everyone.
On the City Council, he helped grow Cerritos’ economy by supporting key commercial developments and revitalizing the Cerritos Auto Square — a major regional economic engine. His leadership helped attract businesses such as 85°C Bakery, In-N-Out, Nordstrom Rack, Harkins Theatres, and The Cheesecake Factory, generating local jobs and strengthening the city’s tax base.
Pulido believes economic development should be strategic and community - focused - supporting small businesses, attracting new investment, and ensuring cities have the resources to fund public safety, infrastructure, and essential services.
